May 2014

I can't believe May has come and almost gone... where does the time go! Mary Drew has had lots of fun end of the year festivities. This post is going to be heavy, heavy on pictures! I am so glad this is the last week of school- and then we will have a rising 1st grader on our hands- SOOOOOO crazy! Griffin and I always joke that we aren't old enough to have a six year old... college literally seems like yesterday! I went on a field trip with MD's class to the Botanical Gardens. It was fun to see her with her class since I don't get to be around them all that much. Mary Drew know how to work the camera and did just that in a few of these pictures... I swear she is a mess. She runs around saying "excuse me, Princess coming thru!" Oh, to be six again!!!
Notice MD's pose in this one of the whole class....
Next up was a Mother's Day Program at school. We knew MD had a speaking part because we have been practicing her line but she surprised us with a sweet little solo. The whole program was about family and her little solo was about being an only child- made this Mama tear up. It was truly so sweet and I am so glad it was a surprise!!!
Here she is during her solo and then with her friend Davis during their speaking part.
Mary Drew and her precious teacher Mrs. Malloch
And last but not least her "recital" or they call it Report of Progress at the Alabama School of Ballet... we are used to full on recitals with costumes and dress rehearsals but this year it was just a little show that they put on during normal class time. It was very sweet :)
We are ready to wrap this week up and kick off summer with a trip to the beach!!
