First of all.... A HUGE thank you to my in laws for taking us on this wonderful and memorable vacation! We had a great time! Disney does things right and there was a little something for everyone!
I want to hit the highlights of our trip so I don't forget them :)
Every night we would eat dinner and have the same server Jose. The first night he asked Mary Drew what she wanted to drink (a Shirley Temple of course) and every night after it was there waiting on her when we arrived for dinner! They also had a special children's menu every night. It always had three courses and lots of fun things for the kids to choose from. Fruit made into pirate boats, mickey shaped pasta, and Mickey ice cream bars! They would always put some vegetables on the plate, too!
While I am on the topic of food.... When you think of cruises you think of food a plenty! And there was but not in an overwhelmingly gross way ;) They had an ice cream machine you could help yourself to any time of day! And room service might have been my favorite. Having piping hot coffee, muffins and fruit delivered every morning was wonderful!
Mary Drew met so many characters. Going into the cruise we talked a lot about the princesses and we saw them. But Daisy and Minnie became quick favorites. She suckered her Dee Dee into buying her both Daisy and Donald because "wouldn't they just be so cute together!"
My favorite was Peter Pan on Pirate Night! He was so sweet and really into "character" when talking to Mary Drew who dressed as Tinkerbelle that night.
They had a little band that would come out and sing by the pool. And they asked kids to come on stage to sing along to "Call Me Maybe." Needless to say Mary Drew loves the stage and was happy to get up and sing the song with the others!
We stopped twice. Once in Mexico and once on Disneys private island Castaway Cay in the Bahamas. The water in both places was so pretty! Griffin and MD "swam" with the dolphins in Mexico and we just sat on the beach in Castaway.
It's crazy how fast 5 days went by. It was a great trip that took us a week to recover from! There was so much to do! Activity after activity. They also had a kids camp that MD loved. We checked her in several times and enjoyed some down time by the adult pool! They would text your ship cell phone when she was ready to be picked up. One day Griffin and his parents went to see Lincoln.... Yes, there was a movie theatre on the boat... So crazy!! They had all kinds of movies playing at different times. I also loved that in our room they had a station that always had Disney movies on.... Cinderella, Lion King, etc.
This is such a long post so I will stop here if you are still reading. Just wanted to get most of it down for our memories!
